Doris Meister joins Emissary Partners’ board of directors

Doris Meister gave few hints of where she might land when she retired as chief executive officer of US wealth manager Wilmington Trust a year ago. Now, her next act is rapidly taking shape.

Meister recently joined the board of directors for family office advisory firm Emissary Partners, according to a statement, her fifth non-executive role since leaving M&T Bank Corp.-owned Wilmington in May 2024. The finance veteran will assist in Emissary’s US expansion as well as advise on corporate governance and key client relationships, the London-based company said.

“I’m all about building and transforming businesses,” Meister, 70, a former executive of Bank of New York Mellon Corp.’s wealth unit, said in an interview. “I can help Emissary scale.”
